DESCRIPTION
AQUA FLASH Granular Ice and Weathershield is a self adhesive composite roof underlayment. The adhesive layer is comprised of proprietary modified asphalt reinforced with heavy fiberglass matting. The surfacing of opaque granules provides excellent weathering, protection from UV radiation and traction. The adhesive layer has a removable liner which is discarded during installation. AQUA FLASH Granular Ice and Weathershield is self adhesive and cold applied. No special equipment is necessary to install AQUA FLASH Granular Ice and Weathershield.
SIZES
AQUA FLASH Granular Ice and Weathershield is 50 mils thick. Rolls are 3' x 66.6' or 200 square feet.
USES
AQUA FLASH Granular Ice and Weathershield is used as an underlayment for slate shingle tile or concrete roofs. The composite membrane prevents moisture entry into structures by sealing uniformly to the deck and around nail penetrations. AQUA FLASH Granular Ice and Weathershield protects all types of buildings from damage due to wind driven rain and ice dams.
APPLICATION
AQUA FLASH Granular Ice & Weathershield must be attached directly to the structural deck. All dirt, dust debris and loose nails must be removed. Place either wood starter shingles or metal drip edge directly over AQUA FLASH Granular Ice & Weathershield.
Cut AQUA FLASH Granular Ice & Weathershield into manageable lengths. Position the membrane along the eave. Peel back 1-2 feet of the release liner, align the membrane and press thoroughly into place. Then remove the remaining release liner. Additional courses need to be overlapped a minimum of 3 inches and end laps a minimum of 6 inches.
Smooth shank galvanized nails are recommended for fastening shingles without overdriving the nails.
