Data Table
Description:
A composite sheet type waterproofing membrane consisting
of a high density cross laminated polyethylene
membrane bonded to highly adhesive SBS
modified bitumen (rubberized asphalt) with a removable
silicone coated kraft paper release liner. When necessary
Aquaflash 500 membrane can be applied as part of a
system which uses both an Aquaflash mastic and primer.
Features and Benefits:
• A composite flashing which is:
• Self-sealing
• Excellent puncture resistance
• Self-healing since the adhesive system will
elongate and recover if somewhat damaged
• High temperature stability
• Termination bar recommended when surface mounted

Model
Specifications:
Special Requirements:
All material specified shall be delivered to the jobsite
in approved manufacturers sealed conatiners bearing
manufaturers name and material identification.
Preparation:
All masonry and other surfaces receiving flashings should
be reasonably smooth, free from loose material and completely
dry. There shall be no slopes which would prevent the
free flow of water to the exterior surface of the wall.
All work shall be executed in conformance with accepted
trade practices.
Materials:
Flashings shall be Aquaflash 500 Flashing consisting
of high density cross laminated polyethylene
bonded to rubberized asphalt for a total
thickness of 40 mils.
Applications:
• Thru-Wall Flashing
• Concealed Flashing
• Foundation Sill Flashing . Base Flashing
• Spandrel Flashing
• Head and Sill Flashing . Parapet Flashing
Application
Instructions:
Aquaflash 500 should be cut into manageable lengths
of approximately 8 to 10 feet. Remove the release liner.
Apply Aquaflash 500 membrane starting from the lowest
point and work upwards.Once
the membrane is in place, use a steel hand roller to
secure the flashing firmly in place. All side laps should
be a minimum of 2 1/2". Either trim edges or lay
the membrane 1/2" back from face of masonry. Inside
and outside corners must be covered with two layers
of membrane and sealed with mastic.
Once installed, no maintenance is required.
Note:
Not to be used for exposed flashing.
Not to be applied below 25°F Not to be applied below
40°F without a primer
Not to be used with oil based, wax based or polysulfide
sealants or creosote.
Rubberized asphalt flashings not to be exposed for more
than 3-4 weeks.
Storage:
Temperature not to exceed 120° Fahrenheit or go
below 25° Fahrenheit.
Protect products from inclement weather or excessive
heat.
Sizes: Standard Widths: 12", 16",
18" 24",36" Standard Length: 50 lineal
feet.
Aquaflash
Mastic:
A rubberized asphalt based adhesive to be used in conjunction
with the Aquaflash 500 membrane to seal all horizontal
terminations, seams, laps, protrusions and any accidental
cuts or punctures. Temperature application is to be
25° F or above. No solvent based mastics are to
be used without the approval of the manufacturer.
Aquaflash
Emulsion Primer:
A solvent free, odorless primer specifically formulated
to be used in conjunction with Aquaflash 500 membrane
to provide good initial adhesion and excellent permanent
adhesion.
Uses:
Aquaflash Emulsion Primer is used to prime all surfaces
where Aquaflash 500 membrane is applied such as concrete,
masonry and wood. The Aquaflash Emulsion Primer is to
be used in ambient and substrate temperatures above
40°F We). This primer can be applied to damp surfaces
including green concrete.
